YOUR MUSIC. YOUR INFORMATION.
Privacy Policy
Effective October 25, 2026
JukeGroove connects a host's own music collection with guests' song requests. This policy describes the information our apps, website, and account service process.
Information we process
- Account details: your email, display name, host or guest role, organization if supplied, email-verification state, account dates, and access entitlement. Passwords are stored as password hashes, not readable passwords.
- Security and sessions: opaque session tokens, password-reset and verification token hashes, request timestamps, and rate-limit identifiers derived from network or account information. Hosting providers may separately keep access and security logs, including IP addresses and browser details.
- Host library metadata: a random library identifier, device label you share, song IDs, song titles, artists, genres, durations, playlist names and song references, counts, and synchronization dates. The app stores an ownership secret securely on the host device; we do not receive the recordings.
- Events and branding: event names, descriptions, color choices, logo or event images, event links and random access codes, event activity, available song metadata, request status, current and upcoming song titles and artists, playback position and playing/paused state, and 16 numeric audio-level bands used to draw music visualizers. These levels are measured from the host app's audio output, not the microphone; they are not a recording and cannot be played as music.
- Guest activity: requested songs, distinct requester identifiers, request order, counts and timing, and searches for unavailable songs that are sent to the host's private To Get list. A signed browser cookie or signed-in account helps keep requests associated with the same guest.
- Support: your email, message, category or subject, reference number, and submission date when you ask for help or send a privacy or rights complaint.
- Membership information: trial start/end and entitlement status. If paid checkout is enabled, we may store billing-provider customer and subscription identifiers, status, dates, and transaction references. Payment-card information is handled by the payment provider or app store, rather than stored as a full card number by JukeGroove.
Information that stays on your device
Your imported music and drops, private local file paths, EQ settings, local playback-control history, and private library files are stored by the host app. Minimal current playback status, upcoming song metadata, and numeric audio levels are shared with the event service to show the guest screen and venue display; raw music or microphone audio is not uploaded. App installation, backup, device transfer, and operating-system services may handle that local data according to your device settings. JukeGroove's account service does not transfer music between devices or provide cloud audio backup.
When you use an optional music-metadata lookup in the host app, song titles and artists may be sent to Apple's public music metadata service to help identify genres. Audio, private file paths, and purchase credentials are not sent by that lookup.
How we use information
We use information to create and authenticate accounts, verify email, recover access, link a host's existing device library to the right account, display song choices, order and deliver requests, show event details, music visualizers, playback status and Top 10 charts, prevent abuse, process support requests, operate memberships, maintain the service, and comply with law. We do not sell access to your local recordings.
Unavailable-song searches are sent privately to the event host after a short pause or submission. They help the host understand what guests wanted; they do not automatically purchase or download songs. Avoid typing personal, sensitive, or confidential information in song searches or request fields.
What other people can see
Anyone who receives a valid event link or QR code may see that event's name, branding, available song titles, artist names, current and upcoming song metadata, playback position and playing/paused state, numeric levels for the visualizer, request counts, queue, and crowd favorites. The read-only venue display also uses a valid event link or QR access code. This minimal playback information supports the event's music display; it does not let visitors hear or download the host's audio. Browser guest names and email addresses are not displayed in the public request list by the current service. The host can see requests and the private To Get list. A link is intended for your guests, but it can be forwarded, so hosts should choose event names and images accordingly.
Account dashboards and library ownership records are restricted to the corresponding account. JukeGroove's operator and authorized service providers may access records when necessary to operate the service, address support or security issues, or meet legal obligations.
Service providers and sharing
We use infrastructure providers to host the website and account data and may use email-delivery, security, payment, and app-store services to provide their respective features. Those providers process information needed for the service under their terms and privacy policies. Our current web infrastructure uses Hostinger; email and billing features are available only when their delivery or checkout is configured.
We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law or a valid legal process, protect people's rights or safety, investigate abuse or infringement, enforce our terms, or complete a business transfer with appropriate protections. We do not sell personal information or share it for third-party behavioral advertising through the current service.
Cookies and device storage
We use necessary cookies for secure website sign-in and to recognize a guest within an event. Browser session storage may remember dismissing the app invitation and unavailable-song searches already sent, so the interface does not repeat them unnecessarily. These functions support authentication, request limits, and the user experience; the current site does not use advertising trackers.
Blocking cookies may prevent sign-in, make a guest appear new, or interfere with request tracking. A guest who clears cookies or uses another browser can get a different identity. Native session credentials and library ownership credentials are stored using device-secure storage where supported. You can sign out or revoke access by changing your password or deleting your account.
Retention and deletion
We keep account records while an account is active and event, catalog, request, and support information as needed to provide features, resolve issues, maintain security, and satisfy legal obligations. Session and recovery tokens have limited validity; expiration prevents their use even where security records remain. Event request links expire according to event limits, but expiration does not necessarily erase host event history.
Use Your account → Delete account on the website or the corresponding app account controls to request account deletion. Account deletion removes account-linked cloud catalogs and event records and revokes account access. It does not delete audio stored on your devices, other users' independent copies, records a payment provider must retain, or limited records we must retain for legal, fraud-prevention, dispute, or security reasons. Routine host and infrastructure backups may age out on their normal schedules.
Support messages submitted separately from an account may require a separate deletion request through our contact form. We may need to verify your relationship to the requested information before providing or deleting it.
Your choices and rights
You can edit your profile, stop sharing an event link, pause or end guest requests, sign out, change your password, delete your account, and choose which files to import locally. Removing an app does not necessarily remove server records or cancel a paid membership. Keep your own audio backups before deleting local files or an app.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, a copy of your personal information, or other rights under applicable privacy law. Send requests through our contact form and choose Privacy request. We will respond as required by applicable law and may request reasonable verification. We do not discriminate against you for exercising rights you have under law.
Security and international processing
We use safeguards designed to protect accounts and private records, including encrypted transport, password hashing, limited session tokens, request controls, and account ownership checks. No system can guarantee complete security. Protect event links and account credentials, use a unique password, and secure your devices.
Our operator and infrastructure may process information in the United States or other countries where providers operate. These locations may have different privacy laws. Where applicable, required protections for international processing remain in effect.
Children
Account creation is intended for adults, and the service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has supplied such information so we can review and take appropriate action.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the service changes. We will update the effective date and provide additional notice for material changes where required. For privacy, account, or service questions, use the JukeGroove contact form or email support@jukegroove.com.
